Lizzie Follows Directions
We recently discovered that Lizzie understands some of our requests and will follow directions. She'll go and get her ball or sit down at her table if we ask. Unfortunately, she doesn't understand 'go change your diaper' :)

First Step
Liz took her first step yesterday and then took another one today! The steps happen so fast that there is no time to grab a camera.

Lizzie's New Classroom
We're really enjoying Lizzie's new classroom. There are four kids (see second picture; Liz is the second from the top) in the room and they range from 7 months to 12 months. One side of the room is all windows so it really brings the outside inside. There are also neat toys, such as the mirrored triangle. The quality and ratio of teachers to students is great too. There are three teachers for the four kids and we feel that Teachers Leslye, Joylyn and Janine love and care for Lizzie as we do. For this last Monday, there was one kid out sick, one kid out on vacation, and one kid out because they're part time. That meant that the ratio was 3:1...that would be three teachers to Liz.
Is That Grinding I Hear?
It is!!! I heard Lizzie grinding her teeth this morning and realized that her top teeth are coming in!

Lizzie Looks Worse than the Highchair
Lizzie Loves Pillow Pillow
It's going to be hard to tell Lizzie to give up her favorite comfy item (she hasn't decide what it is yet) since I still have mine. It's a pillow (that I've cleverly named pillow pillow) that I've had since I was eight. Without fail, pillow pillow can help me fall asleep within ten minutes. The pillow gets washed at the drycleaners each year and I keep thinking that I'll break my attachment once and for all, but I always go back to the power of pillow pillow....in fact, pillow pillow is working its magic on Lizzie as well.
Pushing a Grocery Cart Backwards is not Easy
When we go to the grocery store, we put Liz in the front seat now instead of carrying her in a baby carrier. She likes being up there, but is always turning around so she can see where we're going rather than watching where we've been. I decided to turn the cart around and push her so she would be facing forward and quickly learned that grocery carts are not easy to push backwards.

Tiny Tots and the Seattle Symphony
We took Liz to her first Tiny Tots show, which is hosted by the Seattle Symphony. Each 30-minute concert offers a range of activities such as sing, dancing, and learning about different instruments. It was amazing to watch Lizzie sit still for 30 whole minutes!
