Lizzie doesn't like it when Brett stops when we're hiking. She'll always kick him in the side as her way of saying giddy up.

More Hiking

We went for another hike to Rattlesnake Ledge. The hiking book said that we could complete the trail in an hour and a half and was only about 4 miles. We wondered why there were 'I think I can' signs at the trailhead given the guide books description of a nice stroll. The signs were right! The view at the top (not easily captured due to the clouds) was worth every step, but the hiking book was wrong about the difficulty of the trail. We put Lizzie in a leopard outfit we received since we were out in the wild.

A Band Nana and Grandpa Tom Would Like Too

As I mentioned in the Mercer Island Summer Celebration posting, there were different bands that played throughout the weekend. Lizzie really liked this one and the music reminded me of a band that Nana and Grandpa Tom would enjoy as well.

Mercer Island Summer Celebration

Each summer, Mercer Island holds a celebration at one of the local parks. Festivities include rides, booths, bands, neat metal sculptures that kids can play, a car show, fireworks in the evening...everything!

We went for a hike with two other families that we really like and who have such adorable kids. I was the slow poke so I'll have to pick up my hiking pace.
