A Letter to Lizzie

Liz is the Star Student this week in her class. Being the Star Student entails, among other things, bringing in a favorite book, making a 'Me Poster', and a letter written by Mom and Dad. Below is the letter Brett and I wrote for Liz.

We brought you home on Thanksgiving night

Our Baby Girl to be thankful for

You slept and ate and cried a little

And made our hearts grow forever more  

You started to walk and stated to talk

And taught us patience and strength

You made us a Mom and a Dad

And better people at length

The years have passed, seven in all

And we’re amazed with how you’ve grown

There are some time outs and reminders now and then

But nothing out of the norm

We wish for you to not be defined

By your strengths or weaknesses

But persevere and follow your dreams

And show the world your uniqueness
